Kemp Howe Stone Circle

While not complete, it is an impressive site. There are 6 remaining stones alongside the West Coast Mainline, which buried the rest of the circle. This is believed to be part of the "Shap Complex". Along with the remains of this circle there is the remains of an avenue with the Goggleby Stone and Asper's Field Stone leading to Skellaw Hill / Scale How mound with the Thunder Stone beyond.

PLEASE NOTE: this is on private land. At the time we visited there was no gate on the field, HOWEVER please be respectful, and if the gate is closed, do not enter the field. Sheep is currently trying to track down the owner of the field. If you have any information, please get in touch :)
